Lloyd Arthur Esbach died this weekend, at age 93. Most of you probably don't know the name, but he was the Pro Guest of Honor at the only Cincinnati worldcon, back in 1949. He was the founder and publisher/editor of Fantasy Press. I met him at a few worldcons, and he
was a regular at Midwestcon until a few years ago, when his increased frailty no longer permitted him to make the trip from Pennsylvania.


I remember Mr. Esbach as a quiet, approachable man who was always willing to talk about fannish and publishing history. East coast cons will seem a lot emptier without a conversation with him.
