Ah, Beyond the Fringe. They were one of the funniest pairs ever, and had to split up because of Cook's drinking. I love to watch Bedazzled.
I had the extreme pleasure of seeing Cook and Moore twice on Broadway in the early 70's. It became obvious early on that Moore was Cook's best audience. It was all he could do most of the time to keep from cracking up. In fact he actually lost it once during the One Legged Man Auditioning for Tarzan routine. Cook simply drew out a word to ridiculous lengths('Well" I think) and then arched an eyebrow. Moore lost it. He pogoed around the stage on one leg lost in uncontrollable laughter. Took him quite a long time to regain control. All the while, Cook stood there, slight smile on his face, eybrow raised, waiting to resume. George Spiggot all the way.
Delightful.
As to Bedazzled, it's one of my all time favorite movies. My college cohort used tag lines from it for years. So if you ever find yourself half way up a pole in Berkshire, remember to blow your raspberry.
Julie Andrews.
